University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Government Scholarship is a partial funding scholarship offered by Government of Eswatini for students pursuing studies in Eswatini. The award covers the Study Loan discounts half of tuition, books, registration and uniform costs and does not need to be repaid, while the separate Student Assistance Finance for accommodation, meals and personal expenses must be repaid in full after graduation. Government funding priority is given to applicants in designated priority fields such as education, nursing, engineering and agriculture. and is open to undergraduate students studying priority programs include education, nursing, engineering, agriculture, technical/vocational fields, and tourism and hospitality. The scholarship runs for 1-2 years. Eligibility is generally based on applicants must be Eswatini citizens who completed secondary school with at least 5 credits in no more than two sittings, and their qualifications must have been obtained within the past five years. A prior government scholarship recipient is generally excluded from reapplying, and an official acceptance letter from the tertiary institution is required before the application can be submitted to the Scholarship Secretariat. The application deadline is June 30 annually for local institutions including UNESWA; December 31 for South African/regional institutions.
